For GRIP, 2020 was a key year and one where a number of more traditional research activities were lined up to kick-start our programme internationally—conferences and workshops being key.
Come March 2020 and the world was never the same; the pandemic impacted not only our planned activities in a narrow sense but also forced us to rethink how we approached and engaged inequality as connected, global and multidimensional phenomenon.
Most importantly, however, the pandemic did not immobilize GRIP but rather spurred us into action. I am therefore proud to note that in 2020 we initiated a range of critical interventions, mobilized, listened to and learnt from a host of global voices, entered new partnerships, initiated several new projects and consolidated our institutional and organizational framework.
