In 2023, as the effects of pandemic-induced closures waned, GRIP launched a new agenda that merged previous initiatives with fresh ones. The pandemic and the rise of right-wing movements underscored the critical need to address global and local inequalities. Driven by a renewed commitment to egalitarianism, global institutions and economists joined forces to tackle extreme disparities in wealth and income. GRIP concentrated on global labour history, post-colonial humanitarian issues, the global care crisis, and the role of law in social change. We introduced themes on inequality and illiberalism (2024) and the green transition (2025). Our advocacy within the International Science Council resulted in the forming of a working group dedicated to these pressing issues.
