The all-digital annual SDG Bergen Conference will take place between 9 and 10 February 2023 under the theme ‘A just transformation to a sustainable future‘. The conference continues to address challenges to the Agenda 2030 and the theme is divided into six sessions:

  • Session 1: What do we mean when we talk about a ‘sustainable future’?
  • Session 2: Living well within limits: Is green growth an oxymoron?
  • Session 3: A safe and just space for all species
  • Session 4: The key role of business in securing a just transition
  • Session 5: The how of just transformation
  • Session 6: Lessons learned for a just transformation?

The Prime Minister of Norway Jonas  Gahr Støre will open the conference, and some of the keynotes include the following:

  • Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and UNDP Administrator
  • Dan Kammen, University of California, Berkeley, and former Environmental Envoy for the U.S. State Department
  • Mahmood Mamdani, Professor of Government at Columbia University and former Executive Director of Makerere Institute of Social Research
  • Katja Hujo, Development economist and social policy expert at the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development

We are looking forward to GRIP affiliate Katja Hujo’s keynote on the session ‘The How of Just Transformation‘ and the panel discussion that follows.

You can read the full conference programme as well as the concept note here. Registration is open and you can register here! You have to register to attend sessions.
